Do you know Uhuru 3?
As in France, it seems that freedom of expression is variable geometry with the US government, and this is what it is trying to do with the Uhuru movement.

Omali Yeshitela is an emblematic figure in the struggle for the emancipation of African peoples, founder of the African People's Socialist Party and leader of the Uhuru movement. For more than 50 years, he has campaigned for social justice, self-determination and economic power for black communities, opposing colonialism and imperialism.
The accusations against him that he is conspiring with Russia are not only incoherent, but also a political attempt to discredit his efforts. Yeshitela and his co-defendants, dubbed the ‘Uhuru 3’, were acquitted of the charge of acting as Russian agents. Yet they face charges of ‘conspiracy’ for the same crime of which they were cleared. This contradiction reflects a wider attack on their freedom of expression and their fight for African independence.
What makes this case all the more intriguing is the massive impact Omali Yeshitela has had on generations of activists. His movement served no foreign interests, but rather those of African liberation, fighting for the sovereignty and rights of black peoples throughout the world. He is a revolutionary leader who has been accused of crimes for exercising his right to free speech and denouncing oppressive systems.
For anyone interested in finding out more, this trial raises fundamental questions about freedom of expression, justice and anti-colonial struggles.
